Mallorca Pre-Season Training Camp with Cyclefit

Pre-season training camp professionally guided and supported in the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains of Northern Mallorca.

GPM10 have once again teamed up with Cyclefit to provide a unique and very special week of quality training with professional support. Northern Mallorca's combination of mountains, flat lands; great roads and mild spring weather make it a popular destination for many Pro Tour Teams for pre season training.

Our training camp provides a stress free environment in which to build up the endurance miles needed in preparation for key events later in the season. The ride itinerary for the week is structured and focused with long rides into the mountains and includes routes over the Colle de Puig Major, Sa Calobra and the spectacular coastal road via Diea.

Each ride is professionally lead by our experienced guides with dedicated ‘service course’ provided by the GPM10 team car. Our friends at Cyclefit will be on hand offering expert and qualified advice through out the week and will host  two informal seminars covering a range of  cycling related subjects.

Our base camp is tried and tested 4 star ecological resort situated just outside Port de Pollenca empathically constructed on a natural wetland and has everything you will need in the resort: restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym, wifi, café and shops. Sports massage (additional charge) can be arranged each day and prices for single rooms are available on request.

Note: A four-day ride option based on a arrival Saturday and departure Wednesday is available for £695.00 based on twin occupancy.

Ride schedule for the week.

Day 1 - Arrival day (Saturday). Relaxed ride out to Cap de Formentor, 2-3 hours. 'This is a beautiful but hilly route out to the lighthouse at Cap Formentor and a great ride to do late in the afternoon.'

Day 2 - San Salvador (160km - 6 hours) A fairly flat route inland to San Salvador Monastery - one significant climb (7km). + poss. bonus climb). 'The is a long day but  plenty of time to chat as we will ride as a group out to San Salvador after which it is every man for himself for the climb to the Monastery. There are grand views from the top and across the island with a nice cafe to have lunch before the ride back.'

Day 3 - Sa Calobra (75km) First day in the mountains - Sa Calobra via Selva - ' the most spectacular descent on the island with a 9km (700m) climb back up from sea level.'

Day 4 - Deia and Valldemossa (130km) Mountain and costal ride via Lluc - Coll de Puig Major -Deia - Banyalbufar - Coll d' es Pi - Coll de sa Gremola. 'The long descent off the Coll de Puig Majo into Soller is very fast and a lot of fun - Deia is beautiful but the coastal road to Valdemossa is very hilly... if there is southerly wind the ride back across the island will be testing.'

Day 5 - Rest day - 'Nice gentle spin in the morning then take a massage and relax by the pool for the afternoon.'

Day 6 -
The Classic mountain loop (160KM 7+hrs). 'The Longest Day - this is the classic mountain loop and used by many pro teams on training camps and always features as the BIG mountain stage in the UCI Tour of Mallorca,'

Day 7 - Coastal ride to Arta 140km - Bunch ride out to Arta and back 'Once we reach Arta there is a technical climb and descent to a remote monastery followed by a nice coffee and cake stop before heading back for the final bunch sprint to the hotel.'
